About This Wiki
Tea should feel welcoming. This wiki is for the person making their first loose-leaf cup, the longtime drinker who wants more consistent results, and the curious reader who suddenly needs to know what “partial oxidation” actually means.
We follow tea through a few simple questions:
- 🌱 What leaf was used, and how was it grown and made?
- 🫖 What did water, heat, time, and teaware do to the cup?
- 👃 What did we really notice — and what did we assume from the label?
- 🧭 Where did a historical, cultural, chemical, or health story come from?
- 🔎 How far can the evidence honestly take us?
The goal is not to remove mystery from tea. It is to make the mystery inviting rather than intimidating.
What you will not find here
This is a public guide, so it does not include private tasting journals, personal correspondence, shopping lists, owned-item inventories, profiles of private individuals, or a directory that ranks sellers. Examples focus on methods anyone can try.
The wiki also does not give medical advice, diagnose problems, or certify products and vendors. Tea composition and caffeine exposure vary, and people respond differently. Safety notes offer general orientation; personal medical decisions belong with a qualified professional.
How we keep it trustworthy
We separate what can be observed from what is inferred, what tradition says from what clinical research shows, and what a seller claims from what an independent source can verify. Uncertainty stays visible.
